भारत ने न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप (डब्ल्यूटीसी) फाइनल से पहले गुरुवार को यहां एजियस बाउल से सटे मैदान पर पहली बार समूह में अभ्यास किया। डब्ल्यूटीसी फाइनल 18 से 22 जून के बीच खेला जाएगा। यह पहला अवसर था जबकि खिलाड़ियों को अपने साथियों के साथ मैदान पर उतरने की अनुमति दी गयी।
एसएस न्यूज.साउथम्पटन। भारत ने न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप (डब्ल्यूटीसी) फाइनल से पहले गुरुवार को यहां एजियस बाउल से सटे मैदान पर पहली बार समूह में अभ्यास किया। डब्ल्यूटीसी फाइनल 18 से 22 जून के बीच खेला जाएगा। यह पहला अवसर था जबकि खिलाड़ियों को अपने साथियों के साथ मैदान पर उतरने की अनुमति दी गयी। इससे पहले ब्रिटेन पहुंचने के बाद उन्हें तीन दिन तक कड़े पृथकवास पर रहना पड़ा था जबकि बाद में वे अलग अलग समय में जिम्नेजियम जाते थे या मैदान पर अभ्यास के लिये आते थे।
भारतीय क्रिकेट बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) ने अभ्यास सत्र का संक्षिप्त वीडियो को ट्विटर पर पोस्ट किया है। बीसीसीआई ने लिखा, ”हमने पहली बार समूह में अभ्यास किया और सभी उत्साहित थे। डब्ल्यूटीसी फाइनल के लिये भारतीय टीम की तैयारियां जोर शोर से चल रही हैं।”

खिलाड़ियों ने नेट पर पूरा समय बिताया तथा विराट कोहली, रोहित शर्मा, चेतेश्वर पुजारा और ऋषभ पंत जैसे खिलाड़ियों ने पर्याप्त समय तक बल्लेबाजी की। गेंदबाजों ने भी जमकर पसीना बहाया। सभी मुख्य गेंदबाजों इशांत शर्मा, मोहम्मद शमी, जसप्रीत बुमराह, मोहम्मद सिराज और रविचंद्रन अश्विन ने अभ्यास सत्र में भाग लिया। नेट अभ्यास के बाद क्षेत्ररक्षण कोच आर श्रीधर ने खिलाड़ियों को कैच का अभ्यास कराया।
