टोक्यो ओलंपिक:तमिलनाडु के सीएम एमके स्टालिन ने स्वर्ण पदक विजेताओं के लिए 3 करोड़ रुपये की पुरस्कार राशि की घोषणा की
तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन ने शनिवार को घोषणा की कि उनकी सरकार आगामी टोक्यो ओलंपिक खेलों में पदक जीतने वाले खिलाड़ियों को पुरस्कृत करेगी।
एसएस न्यूज.चेन्नई। तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन ने शनिवार को घोषणा की कि उनकी सरकार आगामी टोक्यो ओलंपिक खेलों में पदक जीतने वाले खिलाड़ियों को पुरस्कृत करेगी। अगले महीने होने वाले इस खेलों में रजत पदक जीतने वाले राज्य के खिलाड़ियों को दो करोड़ रुपये और कांस्य पदक जीतने वालों को एक करोड़ रुपये के नकद पुरस्कार की भी घोषणा की।

उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘ सरकार उन खिलाड़ियों को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है जो वैश्विक प्रतियोगिताओं में अपनी अलग पहचान बनाते हैं। ये नकद पुरस्कार सरकार की ओर से दिए जाएंगे।’’ कोरोना वायरस महामारी के कारण तोक्यो ओलंपिक का आयोजन एक साल के विलंब से 23 जुलाई से शुरू होगा। यहां नेहरू स्टेडियम में खिलाड़ियों के लिए एक विशेष कोविड-19 टीकाकरण शिविर का उद्घाटन करने के बाद स्टालिन ने कहा, ‘‘ ‘‘राज्य सरकार हमेशा खेलों को समर्थन और प्रोत्साहन देगी।’’
तमिलनाडु खेल विकास प्राधिकरण के युवा कल्याण और खेल विभाग, स्वास्थ्य विभाग और तमिलनाडु ओलंपिक संघ के तत्वावधान में आयोजित इस टीकाकरण शिविर में मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा, ‘‘ एथलीटों को शारीरिक मजबूती और प्रेरणा की आवश्यकता होती है। हमने डीएमके (द्रविड़ मुनेत्र कषगम) के चुनावी घोषणा पत्र में वादा किया था कि तमिलनाडु में चार क्षेत्रों में ओलंपिक अकादमी की स्थापना की जाएगी। हमारे वादे पूरे होंगे।’’
उन्होंने इस मौके पर टीकाकरण में भाग लेने वाले छह एथलीटों को पांच-पांच लाख रूपये की नकद प्रोत्साहन राशि वितरित की। इसमें नौकायन में ओलंपिक के लिए क्वालीफाई करने वाले नेथरा कुमानन, वरुण ठक्कर और के सी गणपति के अलावा टेबल टेनिस खिलाड़ी जी साथियन एवं शरथ कमल और पैरालंपियन टी मरिअप्पन शामिल थे।
