उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने बताया कि राई खंड के अंतर्गत आने वाली ग्राम पंचायतों के सरपंच पदों के लिए सीटों का आरक्षण किया गया। इसके लिए ड्रॉ निकाला गया। ड्रॉ के माध्यम से विभिन्न ग्राम पंचायतों के सरपंच पद आरक्षित किये गये।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि मुरथल खंड की ग्राम पंचायतों के सरपंच पदों की सीटों के आरक्षण की प्रक्रिया संपन्न हुई। इस दौरान सामान्य वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए 11 ग्राम पंचायतों में सरपंच पद आरक्षित किये गये, जिनमें असावरपुर, गढ़ी बाला, मोहम्मदाबाद, सफियाबाद, बाजीदपुर सबौली, झिंझौली, मल्हा माजरा, सेवली, दहिसरा, जांटी कलां और खुर्मपुर शामिल हैं।

अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए तीन ग्राम पंचायतों में सरपंच पद आरक्षित किये गये हैं, जिनमें बढख़ालसा, नसीरपुर बांगर तथा रसोई शामिल हैं। अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग के लिए पांच ग्राम पंचायतें सरपंच पद के लिए आरक्षित की गई, जिनमें अटेरना, कतलुपुर, नांगल कलां, पबसरा तथा प्रीतमपुरा हैं। शेष ग्राम पंचायतों के सरपंच पद अनारक्षित रखे गए हैं।
