टोक्यो ओलंपिक-2020 में भारतीय हॉकी पुरूष टीम ने ऐतिहासिक प्रदर्शन करते हुए कांस्य पदक हासिल किया है। सुमित का सम्मान विजयी जुलूस निकाला गया, भारी संख्या में खेल प्रेमियों ने शिकरत की। बहालगढ़ से वाहन में सवार करवाकर सुमित को बैड बाजे ढ़ोल के साथ हर्षोल्लास से कुराड़ लाया गया। कुराड़ के प्रमुख द्वार पर भी उनका ग्रामीणों ने स्वागत किया। गांव में जुलूस निकालते हुए उन्हें घर लाये पुष्प वर्षा की गई। फूलमालाएं पहनाई और सुमित जिंदाबाद के जोरदार नारे लगाये।

विधायक मोहन लाल बड़ौली के भाई माईराम कौशिक ने सुमित का अभिनंदन किया बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि 41 वर्षों के बाद भारतीय पुरूष हॉकी टीम ने ओलंपिक में सफलता हासिल की है। भारतीय पुरूष हॉकी टीम फिर से अपनी पुरानी लय प्राप्त कर रही है। सुमित के पिता प्रताप सिंह तथा भाइयों जय सिंह व अमित कुमार ने सुमित का नम आंखों से घर लौटने पर स्वागत किया। सुमित के कोच नरेश आंतिल तथा सगे-संबंधियों व मित्रों ने भी उनका गर्मजोशी के साथ अभिनंदन किया।
