स्पोर्ट्स अवॉर्ड्स:रोहित शर्मा,विनेश फोगाट, मनिका बत्रा, और थंगावेलू होंगे राजीव गांधी खेलरत्न पुरस्कार सम्मानित

खेल मंत्रालय की कई दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों, प्रशासकीय अधिकारी और पत्रकारों की 12 सदस्यीय स्पेशल कमेटी ने सोमवार को द्रोणाचार्य और मेजर ध्यानचंद खेल सम्मान के लिए दिग्गजों के नाम फाइनल कर दिए हैं। अबकी बार शूटिंग कोच जसपाल राणा और हॉकी कोच रोमेस पठानिया सहित 13 कोचों को द्रोणाचार्य अवॉर्ड सम्मानित किया जाएगा। वहीं 15 महान खिलाड़ियों को मेजर ध्यानचंद सम्मान के लिए चुना गया है। मंगलवार की मीटिंग में राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न और अर्जुन अवॉर्ड विजेताओं के नाम घोषित होंगे।
क्रिकेटर रोहित शर्मा को आज राजीव गांधी पुरस्कार
क्रिकेटर रोहित शर्मा को आज राजीव गांधी पुरस्कार के लिए चिन्हित किया है। रोहित के अलावा टेनिस खिलाड़ी मनिका बत्रा, महिला पहलवान विनेश फोगाट और थंगावेलू को भी खेल रत्न से नवाजा जाएगा। देश के इस सर्वोच्च खेल रत्न पुरस्कार के इतिहास में यह पहला मौका है, जब एक ही साथ चार खिलाड़ियों को संयुक्त रूप से खेल रत्न पुरस्कार के लिए सम्मानित किया जाएगा। फिलहाल नई दिल्ली के जवाहर लाल नेहरू स्टेडियम में चयन समिति की बैठक जारी है और समय गुजरने के साथ ही जल्द अर्जुन पुरस्कार विजेता खिलाड़ियों के नाम भी आपके सामने आजाएंगे। बता दें कि अवार्ड के इतिहास में खेल रत्न अवार्ड पाने वाले रोहित शर्मा सिर्फ चौथे भारतीय क्रिकेटर होंगे। इससे पहले सचिन तेंदुलकर (1997-98), एमएस धोनी (2007), विराट कोहली (2018) को इस अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया जा चूका है।
दोस्तों आपको बता दें कि यह अवार्ड किसी खिलाड़ी को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पिछले चार साल के अंडर किए गए प्रदर्शन के आधार पर ही उसे दिया जाता है, और प्रशस्ति-पत्र, शॉल के अलावा खिलाड़ी को 7.50 लाख रुपये नगद दिए जाते हैं। इस पुरस्कार की स्थापना पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री की स्मृति में साल 1991-92 में शुरू की गई थी।
रोहित शर्मा ने अपने करियर में कई बड़े मुकाम हासिल किए हैं। रोहित ने अपने इंटरनेशनल करियर की शुरुआत आयरलैंड के खिलाफ साल 2007 में की थी। अपने करियर में रोहित ने अभी तक 6 टेस्ट शतक, 29 वनडे शतक और 4 टी-20 इंटरनेशनल शतक लगाए हैं। रोहित ने वनडे में पहला शतक 2010 में जिम्बाब्वे के खिलाफ बुलावायो में लगाया था। वर्ल्ड कप 2019 में भारत के लिए 5 शतक जमाए थे।
