एसएस न्यूज.सैन फ्रांसिस्को। फेसबुक अपने सीईओ मार्क जुकरबर्ग के समर्थन वाली उस विवादास्पद नीति को खत्म करने की योजना बना रहा है जिसमें सोशल नेटवर्किंग साइट पर नेताओं को कुछ निश्चित नियमों से छूट दी गयी थी। मीडिया में आयी खबरों में इस बारे में बताया गया। इस नीति के पक्ष में कंपनी की दलील है कि नेताओं के बयान स्वाभाविक रूप से खबर के लायक और जनहित में होते हैं फिर चाहे वे आक्रामक, धमकी भरे या विवादास्पद क्यों न हों।
पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के अकाउंट के साथ क्या करना है, सोशल मीडिया कंपनी इस पर विचार कर रही है। ट्रंप के अकाउंट को कंपनी ने छह जनवरी को ‘‘अनिश्चितकाल’’ के लिए बंद कर दिया था, जिससे ट्रंप अब अपने अकाउंट पर कोई पोस्ट नहीं कर सकते हैं। नीति में बदलाव की सूचना सबसे पहले तकनीकी खबरें देने वाली साइट ‘द वर्ज’ ने दी थी और बाद में ‘न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स’ और ‘वाशिंगटन पोस्ट’ ने इसकी पुष्टि की।
‘‘खबर योग्य छूट’’ नीति के तहत फेसबुक 2016 से यह छूट दे रहा था। लेकिन 2019 में इस नीति ने लोगों का ध्यान उस वक्त आकर्षित किया जब कंपनी के वैश्विक मामलों एवं संचार के उपाध्यक्ष निक क्लेग ने घोषणा की कि नेताओं के बयान को ‘‘खबर योग्य सामग्री’’ के तौर पर देखा जायेगा जिसे एक सामान्य नियम के तौर पर देखा और सुना जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने तब एक ब्लॉग पोस्ट में कहा था कि ‘‘अगर किसी का बयान या पोस्ट हमारे समुदायिक मानकों को तोड़ता है और वह बयान नुकसान के जोखिम से अधिक हमें जनहित में प्रतीत होता है, तब भी हम अपने मंच पर इसकी अनुमति देंगे।’’ हालांकि इससे नेताओं को असीमित अधिकार नहीं मिले हैं।
जनवरी में जब फेसबुक ने ट्रंप के अकाउंट को बंद किया था तब उसने अपने इस कदम के पक्ष में यूएस कैपिटल (संसद भवन) में ‘‘हिंसा और भड़कने’’ का हवाला दिया था। कंपनी ने कहा है कि उसने ट्रंप के किसी भी पोस्ट के लिए खबर योग्य छूट नीति का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया है। फेसबुक ने हालांकि इस संबंध में टिप्पणी से इनकार किया है।
