एसएस न्यूज.पेरिस। अमेरिकी टेनिस स्टार सेरेना विलियम्स ने फ्रेंच ओपन टेनिस टूर्नामेंट के दूसरे दौर में प्रवेश कर लिया है। 23 बार की ग्रैंड स्लैम विजेता सेरेना ने पहले दौर के मुकाबले में रोमानियाई टेनिस खिलाड़ी इरिना-कैमेलिया बेगू को 7-6 (6), 6-2 से हराकर टूर्नामेंट का अपना पहला मैच जीता।
सेरेना ने मैच के बाद वर्चुअल प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में कहा, “मैं खुश हूं कि मैं उन पलों को बचाने में सफल रही। वह पहला सेट गंवाना नहीं चाहती थी। उस वक्त मैं कुछ नहीं सोच रही थी।” स्विस टेनिस स्टार रोजर फेडरर ने भी सोमवार को चल रहे फ्रेंच ओपन के दूसरे दौर में प्रवेश किया। कोर्ट फिलिप-चैटियर में खेले गए पहले दौर के मैच में फेडरर ने उज्बेकिस्तान के डेनिस इस्तोमिन को 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 से हराया। 39 वर्षीय इस खिलाड़ी को पहले सेट में अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन करते देखा गया और वह अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी को कोई मौका न देते हुए आसानी से इसे 6-2 से जीतने में सफल रहे।
