महाजन ने कहा, “अगर कोई कानून बनता है, उसमें कुछ कमियां हैं, हम उसे भी सुधार सकते हैं। कमियों को किसानों ने भी बताया। जब किसानों के साथ बातचीत हो रही थी, स्वदेशी जागरण मंच ने किसानों से बात करके जो भी बदलाव सुझाए थे, सरकार उन सुझावों को मानने के लिए तैयार हो गई थी। हालांकि, किसान इस बात पर अड़े रहे कि इन कानूनों को वापस लिया जाना चाहिए।”
महाजन ने यह भी कहा कि विरोध में खालिस्तान के झंडे भी लहराए गए थे, ‘नक्सलवाद सक्रिय हो गया था’। उन्होंने कहा कि इन ‘ताकतों’ ने विरोध का फायदा उठाया। महाजन ने कहा, “इस कदम से अलगाववादी ताकतों की भी हार हुई क्योंकि उनका एजेंडा अब खत्म हो गया है।
