भारतीय प्रेस परिषद: उच्चतम न्यायालय की सेवा निवृत्त न्यायमूर्ति रंजना देसाई होंगी ‘प्रेस काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया’ की नई अध्यक्ष
उल्लेखनीय है कि सेवानिवृत्त न्यायमूर्ति रंजना देसाई 30 अक्टूबर 1949 को जन्मी व 1970 में एल्फिंस्टन कॉलेज मुंबई से कला स्नातक और 1973 में गवर्नमेंट लॉ कॉलेज, मुंबई से विधि स्नातक की शिक्षा प्राप्त हैं। उन्होंने उच्चतम न्यायालय में न्यायाधीश के दायित्वों का भी निर्वहन किया है।
नई दिल्ली/जीजेडी न्यूज: उच्चतम न्यायालय की सेवानिवृत्त न्यायमूर्ति रंजना देसाई को “भारतीय प्रेस परिषद” के अध्यक्ष पद के लिए चयन किया गया है। न्यायमूर्ति रंजना देसाई भारतीय प्रेस परिषद के पूर्व अध्यक्ष न्यायमूर्ति चन्द्रमौलि कुमार प्रसाद का स्थान लेंगी। सी के प्रसाद लगातार दो कार्यावधि पूर्ण होने के पश्चात विगत नवंबर 2021 में पदमुक्त हो गये थे। विगत नवम्बर 2021 से अब तक भारतीय प्रेस परिषद के अध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त चल रहा था।
विनिर्दिष्ट प्राविधानों व तय प्रक्रिया के अनुसार राज्यसभा के सभापति / उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू, लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला और चयन समिति के लिए नामित भारतीय प्रेस परिषद के सदस्य श्री प्रकाश दुबे सहित त्रिसदस्यीय समिति ने मंगलवार को आयोजित एक बैठक में भारतीय प्रेस परिषद के आठ माह से रिक्त अध्यक्ष पद के लिए सेवानिवृत्त न्यायमूर्ति रंजना देसाई की नियुक्ति को स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दिया। अति शीघ्र औपचारिक व आधिकारिक अधिसूचना जारी किया जाना सम्भावित है ।
