राष्ट्रपति चुनाव: गोपालकृष्ण गांधी राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के लिए संयुक्त विपक्षी उम्मीदवार के रूप में चुने गए

नई दिल्ली/जीजेडी न्यूज: पश्चिम बंगाल के पूर्व राज्यपाल और राजनयिक गोपालकृष्ण गांधी ने आगामी राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के लिए विपक्षी दल के संयुक्त उम्मीदवार बनने के प्रस्ताव को ठुकरा दिया है। पूर्व राजनयिक और महात्मा गांधी के पोते द्वारा जारी एक बयान में, गांधी ने कहा कि वह सर्वोच्च पद के लिए विचार किए जाने के लिए आभारी हैं, लेकिन उन्हें लगा कि विपक्ष का उम्मीदवार कोई ऐसा व्यक्ति होना चाहिए जो राष्ट्रीय सहमति उत्पन्न करे और उन्हें लगा कि अन्य लोग भी हैं जो कर सकते हैं यह उससे बेहतर करो।

“लेकिन इस मामले पर गहराई से विचार करने के बाद मैं देखता हूं कि विपक्ष का उम्मीदवार ऐसा होना चाहिए जो विपक्षी एकता के अलावा राष्ट्रीय सहमति और राष्ट्रीय माहौल पैदा करे। मुझे लगता है कि और भी होंगे जो मुझसे कहीं बेहतर करेंगे। और इसलिए मैंने नेताओं से ऐसे व्यक्ति को अवसर देने का अनुरोध किया है, “गांधी ने कहा।
गांधी का यह बयान उन खबरों के बीच आया है कि वह राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (राकांपा) के प्रमुख शरद पवार और नेशनल कांफ्रेंस (एनसी) के अध्यक्ष फारूक अब्दुल्ला के बाद विपक्ष के संयुक्त उम्मीदवार के रूप में सबसे आगे हैं।
नेकां प्रमुख ने हालांकि संयुक्त उम्मीदवार होने के प्रस्ताव को भी ठुकरा दिया था। अपना नाम वापस लेने के पीछे अब्दुल्ला द्वारा उद्धृत कारण यह था कि जम्मू और कश्मीर “एक महत्वपूर्ण मोड़ से गुजर रहा है” और कहा कि “इन अनिश्चित समय को नेविगेट करने में मदद करने के लिए उनके प्रयासों की आवश्यकता है”।
