डाक विभाग के पोस्टल सर्विसिज निदेशक निर्मल सिंह ने गन्नौर स्थित मुख्य डाकघर का औचक निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने डाकघर में ग्राहकों के लिए उपलब्ध कराई गई कम्प्यूटरीकृत सेवा देखी आरडी की फीडिंग का बारीकी से कम्प्यूटर पर निरीक्षण किया। गन्नौर के डाकघर को दूसरी जगह सिफ्ट करने के लिए दिए निर्देश।
उन्होंने डाकघर की सेविंग किताबे, बचत खाते व अन्य अभिलेख देखे। एनएससी, टिकट, स्पीड पोस्ट आदि के बारे में जानकारी ली। उनके साथ सोनीपत निदेशक एसके मान, उप निदेशक राजेंद्र वर्मा भी मौजूद थे।
निरीक्षण के दौरान सामने आया कि शहर का मुख्य डाकघर एक संकरी गली में है। इस पर उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि वे डाकघर के लिए खुली जगह देखें। यदि उचित किराये पर इससे बेहतर जगह मिले तो डाकघर को शिफ्ट करने की दिशा में कदम बढ़ाएं।
डाक विभाग के पोस्टल सर्विसिज निदेशक निर्मल सिंह को भाकियू के पूर्व ब्लॉकाध्यक्ष जयभगवान मलिक व उनकी पत्नी रणकौर मलिक ने लड़सौली डाकघर में तैनात एक पोस्टमैन के खिलाफ शिकायत दी। कि लड़सौली डाकघर में काफी समय पहले संदीप पोस्टमैन तैनात था।
उसकी लापरवाही की वजह से उसके बेटे की एमए फाइनल की डिग्री उनके घर तक नहीं पहुंची। उन्होंने लापरवाह कर्मचारी संदीप का तबादला करने की मांग की तो निदेशक निर्मल सिंह ने उन्हें उचित कार्रवाई का आश्वासन दिया।
