नई दिल्ली: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शनिवार को उत्तर प्रदेश के बलरामपुर जिले में सरयू नाहर राष्ट्रीय परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। उद्घाटन समारोह में, उन्होंने दिवंगत जनरल बिपिन रावत को याद करते हुए कहा: “मैं 8 दिसंबर को हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में मारे गए सभी बहादुर योद्धाओं के प्रति अपनी संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूं। भारत के पहले सीडीएस जनरल बिपिन रावत का निधन हर देशभक्त के लिए एक क्षति है। वह बहादुर थे और देश के सशस्त्र बलों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत की, देश इसका गवाह है।

सरयू नाहर राष्ट्रीय परियोजना के उद्घाटन के लिए पीएम मोदी उत्तर प्रदेश के बलरामपुर जिले में हैं। प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय (पीएमओ) के अनुसार, इस परियोजना को बनाने में 9,800 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की लागत आई है, पिछले चार वर्षों में 4,600 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की राशि अलग रखी गई है। यह परियोजना 14 लाख हेक्टेयर से अधिक भूमि की सिंचाई के लिए गारंटीकृत पानी की पेशकश करेगी और इस क्षेत्र के लगभग 29 लाख किसानों की सहायता करेगी।
सरयू नाहर राष्ट्रीय परियोजना
इस परियोजना में क्षेत्र के जल संसाधनों को अधिकतम करने के लिए पांच नदियों – घाघरा, सरयू, राप्ती, बाणगंगा और रोहिणी को आपस में जोड़ना शामिल है। परियोजना 1978 में शुरू हुई थी, लेकिन वित्तीय स्थिरता, अंतरविभागीय समन्वय और पर्याप्त निगरानी की कमी के कारण, इसे स्थगित कर दिया गया था और लगभग चार दशकों के बाद भी समाप्त नहीं हुआ था। पीएमओ के अनुसार, इस परियोजना को 2016 में प्रधान मंत्री कृषि सिंचाई योजना के तहत लाया गया था, इसे समय पर पूरा करने के लक्ष्य के साथ।
पीएमओ के बयान में कहा गया है कि अतिरिक्त नहरों के निर्माण और परियोजना में महत्वपूर्ण अंतराल को पाटने के साथ-साथ पिछली भूमि खरीद से जुड़े मौजूदा मुकदमों को निपटाने के लिए नए भूमि अधिग्रहण के लिए इस प्रयास में अभिनव समाधान विकसित किए गए थे। नए जोर के कारण, परियोजना चार साल से कम समय में समाप्त हो गई थी। पीएमओ के अनुसार, यह परियोजना 14 लाख हेक्टेयर से अधिक भूमि की सिंचाई के लिए गारंटीकृत पानी की पेशकश करेगी और 6,200 से अधिक समुदायों में 29 लाख से अधिक किसानों की सहायता करेगी।
यह पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश में नौ जिलों की मदद करेगा: बहराइच, श्रावस्ती, बलरामपुर, गोंडा, सिद्धार्थनगर, बस्ती, संत कबीर नगर, गोरखपुर और महाराजगंज। पीएमओ ने कहा कि इस क्षेत्र के किसान, जिन्हें परियोजना की अनुचित देरी के परिणामस्वरूप सबसे अधिक नुकसान हुआ है, अब बेहतर सिंचाई क्षमता से बहुत लाभ होगा।
