नई दिल्ली (जीजेडी न्यूज): प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज दोपहर करीब ढाई बजे एक वीडियो संदेश के जरिए वन ओशन समिट के उच्च स्तरीय खंड को संबोधित करेंगे। इस शिखर सम्मेलन के उच्च-स्तरीय खंड को जर्मनी, यूनाइटेड किंगडम, दक्षिण कोरिया, जापान, कनाडा जैसे देशों के विभिन्न राष्ट्राध्यक्षों और सरकारों द्वारा संबोधित किया जाएगा। 9 से 11 फरवरी तक फ्रांस में वन ओशन समिट का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रॉन द्वारा आयोजित, तीन दिवसीय शिखर सम्मेलन उच्च समुद्रों के शासन में सुधार और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान के समन्वय के प्रयासों पर केंद्रित है।

वन ओशन समिट का उद्देश्य अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय को स्वस्थ और टिकाऊ समुद्री पारिस्थितिक तंत्र के संरक्षण और समर्थन की दिशा में ठोस कार्रवाई करने के लिए प्रेरित करना है। जागरूकता बढ़ाने और घटते समुद्री जीवन को बहाल करने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा 2021 और 2030 के बीच के दशक को ‘सतत विकास के लिए महासागर विज्ञान का दशक’ घोषित किया गया है।
