नई दिल्ली: वाराणसी में सदियों पुराने विश्वनाथ मंदिर के आसपास के क्षेत्र को एक बड़ा नया रूप मिला है क्योंकि प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने सोमवार को काशी विश्वनाथ कॉरिडोर का उद्घाटन किया। गलियारा विश्वनाथ मंदिर को गंगा के घाटों से जोड़ता है – एक प्राचीन कनेक्शन जो अतिक्रमण और बेतरतीब निर्माण के कारण कट गया था। मंदिर भारत के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक है और हर साल भारत और विदेशों से लाखों आगंतुक आते हैं।
परियोजना के पहले चरण का निर्माण लगभग 339 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से किया गया है और अब यह पांच लाख वर्ग फुट में फैला हुआ है। पहले का परिसर लगभग 3,000 वर्ग फुट का था। अब, लगभग 50,000-75,000 भक्तों को मंदिर परिसर में ठहराया जा सकता है। चरण 1 की कुछ इमारतों को कुछ और हफ्तों में जनता के लिए खोल दिया जाएगा।
काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर परिसर को नया रूप दिया गया
काशी विश्वनाथ परियोजना में 23 इमारतें हैं। इमारतों में यात्री सुविधा केंद्र, पर्यटक सुविधा केंद्र, वैदिक केंद्र, मुमुक्षु भवन, भोजशाला, सिटी म्यूजियम, व्यूइंग गैलरी, फूड कोर्ट जैसी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध होंगी।
परियोजना का मुख्य आकर्षण ललिता घाट के साथ मुख्य मंदिर के बीच की कड़ी है। पहले लोगों को नदी किनारे से मंदिर तक पहुंचने के लिए भीड़भाड़ वाली सड़कों से गुजरना पड़ता था।
चूंकि, मंदिर सीधे गंगा के किनारे से नहीं जुड़ा था, इसलिए गलियारा भक्तों को नदी से पानी इकट्ठा करने के बाद सीधे मंदिर तक जाने में सक्षम बनाएगा। इसके अलावा, लोग वाराणसी के कई घाटों में से किसी से भी नाव लेकर मंदिर के दर्शन कर सकते हैं।
इमारतों के विध्वंस के दौरान पाए गए 40 से अधिक प्राचीन मंदिरों को अब संरक्षित किया गया है और परियोजना का हिस्सा बनाया गया है। प्रवेश द्वार पर चार दिशाओं में विरासत वास्तुकला शैली में भव्य प्रवेश द्वार और सजावटी मेहराब बनाए गए हैं।
परिसर के अंदर भारत माता की पत्थर से बनी मूर्तियां, संत आदि शंकराचार्य और महारानी अहिल्याबाई होल्कर की मूर्तियां स्थापित की गई हैं। माना जाता है कि महारानी अहिल्याबाई ने लगभग 1780 ईस्वी में मंदिर का निर्माण किया था। 19वीं शताब्दी में महाराजा रणजीत सिंह ने मंदिर को सुनहरे ‘शिखर’ से ताज पहनाया था।
विश्वनाथ मंदिर और 84 घाटों के सांस्कृतिक इतिहास को पर्यटकों के लिए “स्मार्ट साइनेज” पर प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा। एलईडी स्क्रीन पर काशी के इतिहास और स्थापत्य की जानकारी प्रदर्शित होगी। काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर में प्रसिद्ध गंगा आरती और आरती को पर्यटकों के लिए शहर में एलईडी स्क्रीन पर दिखाया जाएगा।
