उत्तर प्रदेश के कानून मंत्री ब्रजेश पाठक ने गुरुवार को कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने निर्देश दिया है कि गोरखपुर छापेमारी मामले में छह निलंबित पुलिसकर्मियों के खिलाफ प्राथमिकी दर्ज की जाए, जिसमें कानपुर के एक व्यापारी की मौत हो गई। पाठक ने एएनआई से बात करते हुए कहा कि सरकार ने मामले को गंभीरता से लिया है।

उन्होंने आगे आश्वासन दिया कि मामले को फास्ट ट्रैक कोर्ट में ले जाया जाएगा। “किसी को भी कानून अपने हाथ में लेने का अधिकार नहीं है, चाहे वह पुलिसकर्मी हो या उच्च पदों पर अन्य व्यक्ति। मामले को फास्ट-ट्रैक कोर्ट में ले जाया जाएगा। सरकार पीड़ित परिवार के समर्थन में खड़ी है।

पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, व्यवसायी मनीष गुप्ता के चेहरे, सिर और शरीर के कई अन्य हिस्सों पर चोटें आई हैं। गुप्ता की 28 सितंबर को गोरखपुर के एक होटल में छापेमारी के दौरान मौत हो गई थी। इससे पहले कानपुर के जिलाधिकारी विशाख अय्यर ने कहा था कि मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ आज अपने कानपुर दौरे के दौरान पीड़ित परिवार के सदस्यों से मुलाकात करेंगे।
व्यवसायी के परिवार को 10 लाख रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि दी गई है।
