भक्ति भगवान की की जाती है। सीधी सी बात है कि भक्त और भगवान दोनों हैं तो भक्ति है वरना भक्ति भी नहीं है।भक्ति सदगुरु की कृपा का प्रतिफल है। सदगुरु ने भगवान के रूबरू कर दिया फिर भक्ति ,उपासना ,पूजा सब अपने वास्तविक रूप में आरम्भ हो गए और सदगुरु के चरणों में श्रद्धा प्रगाढ़ होती गई,विश्वास दृढ़ होता गया।

एक सन्त जब प्रार्थना करते थे तो उनके होंठ तक नही हिलते थे। सुमिरण उनके अंतर्मन में चल रहा होता था पर बाहर कोई हलचल नहीं ,बाहर सब कुछ एकदम शांत होता था।

लोगों ने पूछा – हम प्रार्थना करते हैं, तो हमारे होंठ हिलते हैं। आपके होंठ नहीं हिलते ? आप पत्थर की मूर्ति की तरह हो जाते हैं।
सन्त ने कहा – मैंने राजमहल के सामने द्वार पर सम्राट को खडे़ देखा, और एक भिखारी को भी ।फटे–चीथडे़ थे भिखारी के शरीर पर। जीर्ण – जर्जर देह थी, जैसे बहुत दिनो से भोजन न मिला हो, शरीर सूख कर कांटा हो गया था बस आंखें ही दीयों की तरह जगमगा रही थी। बाकी जीवन जैसे सब तरफ से विलीन हो गया हो।
