डीसीआरयूएसटी, मुरथल के केमिस्ट्री विभाग के एक वर्ष के शोध के बाद विभाग को सफलता मिली। शोध में पता चला कि ऑइल, हैलाइड आयन और सर्फेक्टेंट तीनों को एक विशेष अनुपात में मिलाने के बाद एक फार्मूला तैयार किया गया है, यह हवा, पानी व नमी में तो लंबे समय तक माइल्ड स्टील को जंग लगने से रोका जा सकेगा।

माइल्ड स्टील(एमएस) का प्रयोग पूल निर्माण, रेलवे ट्रैक, भवन निर्माण बॉयलर व टैंक्स इत्यादि में इसका प्रयोग होता है, लेकिन जंग लगने के कारण इनकी आयु कम हो जाती है, इस फॉर्मूले के बाद माइल्ड स्टील को जंग लगने से लंबे समय तक बचाया जा सकता है, जिस कारण प्रयोग पूल निर्माण, रेलवे ट्रैक, भवन निर्माण बॉयलर व टैक्स इत्यादि पर होने वाले खर्च से बचा जा सकता है। विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो.सुमन लता, डा.सुमित कुमार के निर्देशन में डा. रीति पाहुजा ने एक वर्ष के अथक प्रयास के बाद यह फॉर्मूला बनाने में सफलता मिली है।
कुलपति प्रो.राजेंद्र कुमार अनायत ने पीपीपी मॉडल के अंतर्गत इस क्षेत्र से जुड़ी हुई सभी उद्योगों ने निमंत्रण दिया है कि इस फॉर्मूले पर विश्वविद्यालय के साथ मिलकर कार्य करें, इससे राष्ट्र को आर्थिक तौर पर मजबूत कर सकें। प्रो.सुमन लता ने कहा कि तक माइल्ड स्टील पर जंग लगने के कारण देश की अर्थव्यवस्था का लगभग दो से चार प्रतिशत कोरोजन नियंत्रण व उनके रखरखाव में लगाना पड़ता है। डा.सुमित कुमार ने कहा कि विभाग द्वारा तैयार किया गया फॉर्मूला बहुत कम कीमत पर उपलब्ध हो सकता है।
