कोरोना योद्धा पत्रकारों को मिले वित्तीय पैकेज
पत्रकारों को कोरोना वारियर्स घोषित करने और मीडिया उद्योग के लिए एक विशेष वित्तीय पैकेज जारी करने की मांग पर गांधी जयंती पर देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन करने के लिए भारतीय पत्रकार संघ के आह्वान के बाद, पंजाब और चंडीगढ़ पत्रकार यूनियन ने चंडीगढ़ में 2 घंटे तक विरोध प्रदर्शन किया।

पत्रकारों को कोरोना वारियर्स घोषित करने और मीडिया उद्योग के लिए एक विशेष वित्तीय पैकेज जारी करने की मांग पर गांधी जयंती पर देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन करने के लिए भारतीय पत्रकार संघ के आह्वान के बाद, पंजाब और चंडीगढ़ पत्रकार यूनियन ने चंडीगढ़ में 2 घंटे तक विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। इस संबंध में प्रधानमंत्री और भारत के राष्ट्रपति को एक ज्ञापन भी सौंपा गया है।
इस अवसर पर पंजाब और चंडीगढ़ जर्नलिस्ट यूनियन के अध्यक्ष बलविंदर सिंह जम्मू, अध्यक्ष बलबीर जंदू, सचिव बलविंदर सिंह सिप्रे, कैशियर संतोष गुप्ता, चंडीगढ़ यूनियन के अध्यक्ष जय सिंह छिब्बर, संरक्षक तरलखन सिंह, महासचिव बिंदू सिंह, सरबजीत सिंह भट्टी और अध्यक्ष जगतार सिंह भुल्लर ने इस अवसर पर बात की।
सभी वक्ताओं ने मांगों पर जोर देते हुए कहा कि डॉक्टरों, पुलिस और अन्य विभागों के अधिकारियों की तरह, पत्रकारों को भी ‘फ्रंटलाइन’ के रूप में काम किया गया है।
उन्होंने कहा कि Covid19 के कारण 130 से अधिक पत्रकारों को अपनी जान गंवानी पड़ी। लेकिन, यह दुख की बात है कि न तो केंद्र और न ही राज्य सरकारों ने मृतक के परिवारों को अब तक कोई वित्तीय मुआवजा दिया है।
बलविंदर सिंह जम्मू, अध्यक्ष पीसीजेयू ने पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री ने देश के लोगों को संबोधित करते हुए पत्रकारों को फ्रंटलाइन योद्धाओं की संज्ञा दी थी। लेकिन अब तक, पत्रकारों या मीडियाकर्मियों को एक भी मुआवजा राज्य या केंद्र सरकारों द्वारा नहीं दिया गया है। उन्होंने आगे राज्य और केंद्र सरकारों से विभिन्न विभागों के अन्य कर्मचारियों की धुन में मृतक परिवारों को मुआवजा पैकेज जारी करने की मांग की।
संघ रुपये की मांग कर रहा है। मृतक के परिजनों और परिजनों को 50 लाख का मुआवजा और रुपये का बीमा कवर। सभी पत्रकारों और मीडिया कर्मचारियों को 50 लाख।
