आज पंजाब के कोटकपुरा में साल 2015 में पुलिसिया गोलीबारी घटनाक्रम की जांच कर ने वाले विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) का हिस्सा रहे पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी कुंवर विजय प्रताप सिंह आज आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हो गए हैं। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने विजय प्रताप सिंह को पार्टी की सदस्यता दिलाई।

अब पंजाब की जनता चाहती है बदलाव: केजरीवाल
दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘मैं पंजाब के पूर्व पुलिस अधिकारी कुंवर विजय प्रताप सिंह का आम आदमी पार्टी में उनकी ईमानदार छवि के लिए स्वागत करता हूं. पूरा पंजाब अब बदलाव चाहता है, एक ही आस है ‘आप’ कुंवर साहिब का समर्थन पंजाब के लोगों की इस उम्मीद को और मजबूत करेगा।’

पूर्व आईपीएस कुंवर विजय प्रताप सिंह ने अप्रैल में दिया था अपना इस्तीफा
पूर्व आईपीएस कुंवर विजय प्रताप सिंह ने इसी साल अप्रैल में सर्विस खत्म होने से पहले ही अपनी रिटायरमेंट ले ली थी। इससे पहले पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने पंजाब पुलिस की पहले की एसआईटी की रिपोर्ट को खारिज कर दिया था। यह एसआईटी फरीदकोट जिले में गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब की कथित बेअदबी को लेकर 2015 में कोटकपुरा में प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोगों पर पुलिस के द्वारा की गई गोलीबारी की जांच कर रही थी।
