एसएस न्यूज.पेरिस। अपने 21वें ग्रैंडस्लैम खिताब की कवायद में लगे रोजर फेडरर को फ्रेंच ओपन टेनिस टूर्नामेंट के तीसरे दौर में जीत के लिये चार सेट तक जमकर पसीना बहाना पड़ा। एक समय लग रहा था कि फेडरर 2004 के बाद पहली बार चौथे दौर में जगह नहीं बना पाएंगे लेकिन आखिर में वह 59वीं रैंकिंग के डोमिनिक कोपफर पर 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 7-5 से जीत दर्ज करने में सफल रहे। यह मैच रात एक बजे तक चला और रात नौ बजे के बाद कोविड—19 कर्फ्यू लगने के कारण यह मैच दर्शकों के बिना खेला गया।
फेडरर ने कहा, ”उसे हराना आसान नहीं था। मैंने जुझारूपन बनाये रखा। मैं वास्तव में खुद को प्रेरित करने की कोशिश कर रहा था। ”बीस बार के ग्रैंडस्लैम विजेता फेडरर आठ अगस्त को 40 साल के हो जाएंगे। इससे पहले वह 17 साल पहले फ्रेंच ओपन के तीसरे दौर में बाहर हो गये थे।
