सोनीपत जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी द्वारा विगत 3 अप्रैल को मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खटटर के रोहतक आगमन के दौरान शांतिपूर्वक तरीक़े से विरोध प्रदर्शन क़र रहे किसानों पर हुए लाठीचार्ज के खिलाफ लघु सचिवालय में रोष प्रदर्शन किया गया और सरकार की तानाशाही का विरोध किया गया। इस दौरान गोहाना विधायक जगबीर मलिक की अध्यक्षता में उपायुक्त महोदय के माध्यम से राष्ट्रपति के नाम ज्ञापन दिया गया।

पत्रकारों से बातचीत में विधायक जगबीर मलिक ने कहा की लगभग पिछले 5 माह से देश और प्रदेश का किसान सड़कों पर है और भीषण गर्मी और सर्दी के मौसम में अपने हकों की लड़ाई लड़ रहा है और इस संघर्ष में अभी तक 300 से ज्यादा किसान अपने प्राण त्याग चुके हैं। इन किसानो और इनके परिवार के लिए सहानुभूति के दो शब्द बोलने के बजाय सरकार कभी झूठे मुकदमे दर्ज़ क़र और लाठी चार्ज क़र किसानों को प्रताड़ित करने का काम क़र रही है। उन्होंने कहा की सरकार के मुखिया और उनके सहयोगी किसानों की समस्याओं को लेकर बिलकुल भी गंभीर नहीं है ऐसे में किसान संगठनों द्वारा उनका शांतिपूर्वक विरोध करना बिलकुल जायज है लेकिन ये सरकार तानाशाही की सारी हदों को पार करते हुए किसानों से ये हक़ भी छीनने पर आमादा है। रोहतक में बुजुर्ग किसानों पर लाठीचार्ज करना सरकार की बौखलाहट दर्शाता है।इस दौरान विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता और पदाधिकारी हनुमान मंदिर के आगे इकट्ठे हुए और वहां से सरकार की तानाशाही के खिलाफ आवाज़ बुलंद करते हुए उपायुक्त कार्यालय पहुंचे और तहसीलदार मनोज कुमार को राष्ट्रपति के नाम ज्ञापन सौंपा।
