समाज के जरूरतमंद वर्ग कुम्हारों की मिट्टी पकाने की समस्या के स्थाई समाधान की दिशा में मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल के पूर्व मीडिया सलाहकार राजीव जैन ने प्रभावी कदम बढ़ाए हैं। जैन के प्रयासों से ही देवडू में शहर के कुम्हारों के लिए मिट्टी पकाने के लिए तीन एकड़ भूमि आवंटित की गई, जिसकी चारदिवारी करने का कार्य जोरों पर है। उन्होंने मंगलवार को स्वयं चारदिवारी के निर्माण कार्य का जायजा लिया।
भाजपा नेता राजीव जैन ने कुम्हारों के लिए मिट्टी के कच्चे बर्तनों को पकाने की जगह उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए प्रयास किया। कुम्हार वर्ग ने भी उनके समक्ष अपनी इस मांग को प्रमुखता से रखा। जैन ने अथक प्रयासों से देवडू में तीन एकड़ भूमि आवंटित करवाई। आवंटित की गई भूमि की चारदिवारी का कार्य भी पूर्व मीडिया सलाहकार ने प्रारंभ करवा रखा है, जिसका उन्होंने स्वयं निरीक्षण भी किया। उन्होंने कहा कि चारदिवारी का निर्माण कार्य करीब 25 लाख रुपये की लागत से पूरा किया जाएगा। जटवाड़ा में कुम्हारों को मिट्टी के बर्तन पकाने के लिए सडक का प्रयोग करने को विवश होना पड़ता है। इसी प्रकार गढ़ी ब्राह्मणान में भी कुम्हार मिट्टी के बर्तन गलियों में रखकर पकाते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारी संस्कृति व सभ्यता के संरक्षण में कुम्हार वर्ग की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही है। आज भी कुम्हार वर्ग ने अपनी परंपरा का त्याग नहीं किया है। ऐसे में हमारा भी दायित्व बनता है कि हम उन्हें हर संभव सहयोग व मदद प्रदान करें। इस मौके पर राजपाल, प्रकाश, राजेंद्र, पालेराम, अतर सिंह, मनोज, आनंद, हरिराम, धरमो देवी, कृतिपाल, राधेश्याम, हवा सिंह, राज सिंह, मुकेश और सुखबीर आदि गणमान्य व्यक्ति मौजूद थे।
