इंग्लैंड महिला टीम की दिग्गज क्रिकेटर लौरा मार्श ने क्रिकेट के सभी फॉर्म्स से संन्यास ले लिया है। लौरा मार्श ने इंग्लैंड के लिए 9 टेस्ट, 103 वनडे और 67 टी20 मुकाबले खेले। 33 वर्षीय लौरा मार्श ने इस दौरान तीनों फॉर्मेट को मिलाकर 217 विकेट चटकाए। लौरा मार्श ने पिछले साल दिसंबर में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास लेने का फैसला किया था और अब उन्होंने सभी फॉर्म्स को अलविदा कह दिया है।

कोरोना वायरस की वजह से ‘द हंड्रेड’ के पहले सीजन का आयोजन नहीं हुआ और इसके बाद उन्होंने संन्यास का ऐलान कर दिया। लौरा मार्श ने ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘मैंने क्रिकेट के सभी फॉर्म्स से संन्यास लेने का फैसला किया है। इस साल ‘द हंड्रेड’ का आयोजन नहीं होगा और मुझे लगता है कि संन्यास लेने का अब यही सही समय है। जिन भी टीमों के लिए इतने साल मैंने खेला उन सबको मैं बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद देना चाहती हूं। लौरा मार्श ने एक और ट्वीट किया और कहा, ’13 सालों तक मुझे इंग्लैंड क्रिकेट टीम की तरफ से खेलने का मौका मिला, जिससे मैं खुद को काफी भाग्यशाली और गौरवान्वित महसूस करती हूं। इतने सालों के दौरान कई सुनहरी यादें मेरी जुड़ी हुई हैं।
मेरे करियर के दौरान जिन-जिन लोगों ने भी मेरा सपोर्ट किया मैं उनकी आभारी हूं। शुभकामानाओं के लिए बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद। ये मेरे लिए काफी मायने रखता है।’ आपको बता दें कि लौरा मार्श इंग्लैंड की तरफ से खेलते हुए 3 वर्ल्ड कप जीत चुकी हैं। वो 2009 और 2017 में वनडे वर्ल्ड कप जीतने वाली टीम का हिस्सा थीं।

इसके अलावा 2009 में टी20 वर्ल्ड कप जीतने वाली इंग्लैंड टीम का भी वो हिस्सा थीं। लौरा मार्श ने अपना डेब्यू साल 2006 में टेस्ट क्रिकेट से किया था। उन्होंने अपने करियर की शुरुआत तेज गेंदबाज के तौर पर की थी लेकिन जल्द ही वो स्पिनर बन गईं। उन्होंने केंट और ससेक्स के लिए भी खेला और बिग बैश लीग में सिडनी सिक्सर्स का हिस्सा थीं।
