डबास ने कहा कि देशभर के लोगों के मन में सेना के जांबाज सैनिकों और उनके परिवार को लेकर हमेशा ही श्रद्धा का भाव है। 1949 में आज ही के दिन भारत के अंतिम ब्रिटिश कमांडर-इन-चीफ जनरल फ्रांसिस बुचर के स्थान पर तत्कालीन लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल के एम करियप्पा भारतीय सेना के कमांडर इन चीफ बने थे।

सोनीपत: भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन की ओर से रविवार को बादशाही रोड स्थित निजी गार्डन में 75वां सेना दिवस अवसर पर सेना के सेवानिवृत कर्नल दिलबाग सिंह डबास ने बतौर मुख्यातिथि कहा कि देशवासी सैनिकों के साहस एवं समर्पण पर गर्व महसूस करते हैं।
डबास ने कहा कि देशभर के लोगों के मन में सेना के जांबाज सैनिकों और उनके परिवार को लेकर हमेशा ही श्रद्धा का भाव है। 1949 में आज ही के दिन भारत के अंतिम ब्रिटिश कमांडर-इन-चीफ जनरल फ्रांसिस बुचर के स्थान पर तत्कालीन लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल के एम करियप्पा भारतीय सेना के कमांडर इन चीफ बने थे। इसीलिए हर साल 15 जनवरी को सेना दिवस मनाते हैं। यह दिन देश की सशस्त्र सेनाओं के प्रति सम्मान प्रदर्शित करने का दिन है।
गन्नौर में सीएसडी कैंटीन बनाने, ईसीएचएस की सुविधा करने की मांग की गई। गत पांच वर्षों से सरकार से यह मांग करते आ रहे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री के समक्ष इस मांग को रखा गया था। सुबेदार भीम सिंह, नफे सिंह, प्रकाश, आनंद, रतन मलिक सहित अन्य सदस्य मौजूद रहे। जबकि ऑल इंडिया कुश्ती कोच सेवानिवृत लेफ्टििनेंट बलवंत सिंह छिक्कारा, लेफ्टिनेंट रामचंद्र जैन, समालखा भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन के अध्यक्ष लेफ्टिनेंट नरसिंह शामिल हुए। स्थानीय संगठन शाखा अध्यक्ष ओमप्रकाश मलिक, कैप्टन एसएस दहिया, सुबेदार मेजर राजपाल आदि ने फूलमालाओं के साथ मेहमानों स्वागत किया। अतिथियों ने पूर्व सैनिकों के अलावा, शहीद हुए सैनिकों की विरागंनाओं को शॉल भेंट कर सम्मानित किया गया।
