नई दिल्ली: समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई ने बताया कि कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने सोमवार को जवाहरलाल नेहरू को उनके जन्मदिन के अवसर पर श्रद्धांजलि दी और कहा कि भारत के पहले प्रधान मंत्री के “जबरदस्त योगदान” के बिना, 21 वीं सदी के भारत की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती है।
खड़गे ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री को “लोकतंत्र के चैंपियन” के रूप में संदर्भित किया और दावा किया कि, “कठिनाइयों के बावजूद,” उनके विचारों ने भारत की आर्थिक प्रगति को आगे बढ़ाया है।
खड़गे ने ट्विटर पर कहा, “पंडित नेहरू- आधुनिक भारत के निर्माता। उनके जबरदस्त योगदान के बिना 21वें भारत की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती। लोकतंत्र के चैंपियन, उनके प्रगतिशील विचारों ने चुनौतियों के बावजूद भारत के सामाजिक, राजनीतिक और आर्थिक विकास को आगे बढ़ाया। मेरा एक सच्चे देशभक्त को विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि।

जवाहरलाल नेहरू की जयंती के मौके पर यूपीए अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी और कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने राजधानी में उनके स्मारक शांति वन पर फूल चढ़ाए।
