चेन्नई/जीजेडी न्यूज: अभिनेत्री माहेश्वरी अम्मा, जिन्हें ललिता के नाम से जाना जाता है, जिन्होंने पांच दशक के करियर में मॉलीवुड और कॉलीवुड सहित 500 से अधिक फिल्मों में अभिनय किया, का मंगलवार रात कोच्चि में निधन हो गया। 73 वर्षीय अभिनेत्री लीवर से संबंधित बीमारियों से पीड़ित थीं और इससे पहले दिसंबर में उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था।

दिवंगत अभिनेत्री को उनकी फिल्मों अमरम और शांतम के लिए क्रमशः 1990 और 2000 में सहायक अभिनेत्री श्रेणी के तहत राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार भी मिला। निजी जीवन में, अभिनेत्री ने फिल्म निर्देशक भरत से शादी की, जिनकी 1998 में मृत्यु हो गई। वह वर्तमान में अपने बेटे सिद्धार्थ, एक अभिनेता और निर्देशक से बचे हैं।
केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनाराई विजयन ने अभिनेत्री के निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया है। उन्होंने कहा, ललिता एक युग के इतिहास का हिस्सा बन गई हैं, लेकिन वह अपने बेदाग अभिनय कौशल से विभिन्न पीढ़ियों में प्रवेश करने में सफल रहीं।
