न्यूजीलैंड में दर्शकों की मौजूदगी में होने वाली खेल प्रतियोगिताओं पर नई पांबदी लगायी जा सकती है क्योंकि आकलैंड में कोविड-19 के चार नये मामले सामने आये हैं। न्यूजीलैंड में 102 दिन से सामुदायिक संक्रमण का एक भी मामला दर्ज नहीं किया गया था, जिसके बाद ये संक्रमण के नये चार मामले मिले हैं। न्यूजीलैंड की प्रधानमंत्री जेसिंडा आर्डर्न ने घोषणा की कि आकलैंड में बुधवार को 72 घंटे का ‘लेवल थ्री’ लॉकडाउन शुरू होगा जबकि बाकी जगह पर तीन दिन के लिये ‘लेवल टू’ का लॉकडाउन लगेगा। ‘लेवल थ्री’ में बड़ी खेल गतिविधियों पर पांबदी जबकि ‘लेवल टू’ में 100 लोगों के एक साथ इकट्ठा होने पर रोक लगायी जाती है। दोनों लॉकडाउन हफ्ते के अंत से पहले खत्म हो जायेंगे जब सुपर रग्बी आटिरोआ में अंतिम दौर के मैच शुरू होंगे।
स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञों को उम्मीद है कि संक्रमण के मामले कहां से आये, इसकी जानकारी मिलने के बाद पांबदियां बढ़ायी जा सकती हैं। आर्डर्न ने मंगलवार को घोषणा की थी कि दक्षिण आकलैंड में एक परिवार के चार सदस्य कोविड-19 पॉजिटिव पाये गये हैं। यह परिवार हाल में विदेश की यात्रा करके नहीं आया है और उनका सीमा पर और पृथकवास अधिकारियों से भी संपर्क नहीं है जिससे उनके संक्रमित होने के स्रोत का पता नहीं चल सका है।
पिछले 102 दिन में कोविड-19 संक्रमण के मामले केवल उन्हीं लोगों में मिले हैं जो विदेश से लौटे हैं और पृथकवास में रह रहे हैं। इससे न्यूजीलैंड में लोगों की दिनचर्या सामान्य हो गयी। स्कूल, कार्यालय, रेस्तंरा और बार खोल दिये गये, साथ ही खेल प्रशसंकों को खेल प्रतियोगिताओं को देखने की अनुमति भी दे दी गयी जिसमें कोई भी संख्या की सीमा नहीं लगायी गयी। सुपर रग्बी के शुरूआती दौर के मैच के लिये रिकार्ड 40,000 से ज्यादा दर्शक पहुंचे। अगर ‘लेवल थ्री’ लॉकडाउन को बढ़ाया जाता है तो हफ्ते के अंत में रग्बी मैच खेला नहीं जायेगा। लेकिन ‘लेवल टू’ के दौरान दर्शकों के बिना मैच कराये जा सकते हैं।
मंगलवार को न्यूजीलैंड रग्बी ने ट्वीट कर कहा कि वह इस समय सरकार की लॉकडाउन की घोषणा के बाद रग्बी पर पड़ने वाले प्रभाव का आकलन कर रहा है। और न्यूजीलैंड रग्बी लगातार सरकार के सपंर्क में है और इस संबध में और अपडेट कल (बुधवार) को दिया जायेगा।’’
