रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड की परोपकार शाखा रिलायंस फाउंडेशन ने बुधवार को कहा कि उसने लैंगिंग डिजिटल खाई को कम करने के लिए अमेरिकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय विकास एजेंसी (यूएसएआईडी) और डब्ल्यू-जीडीपी के साथ साझेदारी की है। रिलायंस फाउंडेशन द्वारा जारी एक बयान के मुताबिक इस साझेदारी की घोषणा ‘महिलाओं के वैश्विक विकास एवं समृद्धि’ (डब्ल्यू-जीडीपी) के एक कार्यक्रम में की गई। इस कार्यक्रम में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति की बेटी इवांका ट्रंप विशेष अतिथि के तौर पर मौजूद थीं। इसके अलावा अमेरिकी उप-मंत्री स्टीफन बेजगुन, यूएसएआईडी के उप-प्रशासक बोनी ग्लिक भी मौजूद थे।
डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने 2019 में दुनिया भर में महिलाओं के आर्थिक सशक्तिकरण के लिए डब्ल्यू-जीडीपी पहल की शुरुआत की थी। इस पहल के तहत रिलायंस फाउंडेशन और यूएसएआईडी साथ मिलकर काम करेंगे। कार्यक्रम को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के जरिए संबोधित करते हुए रिलायंस फाउंडेशन की अध्यक्ष नीता अंबानी ने कहा, हम 2020 में पूरे भारत में एक साथ डब्ल्यू-जीडीपी महिला संपर्क चुनौती की शुरुआत करेंगे। विज्ञप्ति के मुताबिक इसके लिए रिलायंस जियो के संसाधनों का इस्तेमाल भी किया जाएगा।
