अधिकारियों ने कहा कि ओमिक्रॉन संस्करण का दिल्ली का पहला मरीज – रांची का एक 37 वर्षीय व्यक्ति – दो बार सीओवीआईडी -19 के लिए नकारात्मक परीक्षण करने के बाद सोमवार को छुट्टी दे दी गई। उन्होंने 2 दिसंबर को कतर एयरवेज की फ्लाइट से तंजानिया से दोहा और वहां से दिल्ली की यात्रा की थी। वह दक्षिण अफ्रीका के जोहान्सबर्ग में एक सप्ताह तक रहे और उनमें हल्के लक्षण थे।
नए मानदंडों के तहत, “जोखिम में” देशों से आने वाले यात्रियों के लिए आरटी-पीसीआर परीक्षण अनिवार्य हैं और परिणाम आने के बाद ही उन्हें हवाई अड्डे से बाहर जाने की अनुमति दी जाती है। साथ ही दूसरे देशों से फ्लाइट से आने वाले यात्रियों में से दो फीसदी का रैंडम तरीके से टेस्ट किया जा रहा है।
