आज हर साल अलग-अलग देशों से कई लोग पहाड़ों के संरक्षण के लिए आगे आते हैं। इसके अलावा इस दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा हर साल पहाड़ों के लिए एक विषय भी तय किया जाता है, जिस पर अलग-अलग देश काम करते हैं।
