अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी को देश के प्रमुख नेताओं में से एक माना जाता है और भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के संस्थापक सदस्य हैं। पूर्व प्रधान मंत्री का लंबी बीमारी के बाद अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (एम्स) में 16 अगस्त, 2018 को निधन हो गया। उस समय वाजपेयी 93 वर्ष के थे।
