उपायुक्त ललित सिवाच ने यह जानकारी दी और पेड़-पौधों के महत्व पर गांव बड़वासनी में पौधारोपण कर वन-महोत्सव कार्यक्रम का आगाज किया। वन विभाग के माध्यम से लगभग 4 लाख 70 हजार पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। तीन लाख पौधे जल शक्ति अभियान के अंतर्गत लगाये जायेंगे। एक लाख पौधे पौधागिरी कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत रोपे जायेंगे और दो लाख पौधे विभिन्न संस्थाओं व विद्यार्थियों को वितरीत किये जायेंगे। गांव तथा ग्राम पंचायत बधाई की पात्र हैं।
वन मंडल अधिकारी राजेश वत्स ने बताया कि वन महोत्सव के तहत पहले दिन विभिन्न स्थानों पर 20 हजार पौधे लगाकर शुरुआत की गई है। निर्धारित पौधारोपण का लक्ष्य हासिल किया जाएगा। बारहा के प्रधान प्रीतम सिंह ने पौधारोपण किया।
